Can I install a new Corian countertop over my existing tile countertop?

I am buying a new home with tile countertops in the kitchen. I heard Corian could be installed over tile. Please let me know if this is possible. Thanks!

It would raise the level of your countertops. They would stick out above your range, for instance. Usually tile is laid on plywood. The plywood should only be attached with some screws from underneath, simple to unscrew and remove the whole thing. I would encourage you to remove the old countertops.
