Kitchen Granite Countertop Care

Best type of kitchen countertop?

I’m replacing a very old Formica countertop in my kitchen. Not sure I want the expense and care of granite. May rent out the house – needs to be durable, and resist stains most of all. Suggestions?

Also consider solid surface. Corian is the number one brand name, but anything that is solid acrylic is great. They can not be stained. I have used everything from red wine to iodine with no problem. Dollar for dollar it is very cost effective.

Be careful though, some solid surface products have polyester in them and they will stain.
