Corian Countertops Edges
Thoughts on white countertops?
Have seen a few pics lately, in Nate Berkus’s book, some mags, and cabinet brochures, etc, and wondering what peoples thoughts were. We are thinking of doing Corian or LG – and of course white is in their cheapest group. But are curious on it for resale of the house, what peoples thoughts are -if white is coming back?
Also, we arent planning on changing the appliances and those are white. The cabinets are a darker stained oak, which also will not be changing. Theres a medium stained oak floor in the kitchen too. The old owners put in lamitate counter tops – with a fake butcher block pattern. This is why we’re changing it
Im also tempted to go with the 3 inch edge, have seen one or two like this in Midwest Living, and liked that fat-edge look.
My old kitchen had pine cabinets, white countertops and appliances. We remodeled last year (major remodel- tore down walls, etc). We went with granite countertops and maple cabinets with stainless appliances. But that is what we wanted. The appliances we had were older and we didn’t want to put them in our new kitchen.
I think white tops and appliances look fine. It brightens up the kitchen and its easy to see when you miss a spot cleaning…..which may or may not be a good thing
I don’t think white will ever really go out of style. I would go with formica countertops. What is the point of spending all that money on Corian if you are just going to get white? My older white formica top looked fine when we pulled it off.
