Corian Countertop Material

Corian Counters

Du Pont created a hard surface material from acrylic polymer and alumina tri-hydrate called corian. Heating the corian to three hundred degrees makes it moldable and therefore, can be formed for use in kitchen appliances such as sinks and counter. In its flat solid form it is used for making counters. It comes in approximately one hundred different colors. The color permeates throughout the corian which makes stains and scratches easier to buff out.. Even when more than one piece is necessary for a counter top, when corian countertops are joined together they are seamless. A corian counter top can have a corian sink fitted into it with a contrasting or same color.

Du Pont first introduced corian to the public in 1967. The counters from corian are durable, attractive and come in a variety of colors to match or enhance any kitchen décor. However the durability of corian does not extend to being heat-resistant, so caution should be taken and a hot pot should not be placed onto the counter top. corian counter tops can be cleaned with soapy water or ammonia based cleaners. A window cleaner should not be used to clean corian but instead, use a commercial surface cleaner. When you are choosing a color for your countertop, keep in mind that the darker colors will show scratches more than light colors.

Corian is a pre-consumer recycled material that lends itself to being eco-friendly. The DuPont corian has won an award for being eco-friendly. They received the Green Approved Product Seal for National Green Building Certification by the National Association of Home Builders, Research Center. Using corian will help you to do your part in saving the planet and still manage to design a durable, colorful and beautiful kitchen.

The price of corian is reasonable considering the selection of vivid colors and patterns and its high quality. corian countertop prices range from $22.00 per square foot for the white or light solid colors to as much as $90 per square foot for patterns and vivid colors. These prices do not include installation or shipping.

I always forget a detail when i am asked to do something.?

EXAMPLE:
When i had to go do a paper template of a countertop at a job site, My supervisor told me to make a paper template of the Milwork, Plus he told me to bring back wood templates that were for that milwork. We knew that the milworks (Cabinets) were being worked on for some corian material face panels, so the milwork was broked down to 4 pieces. The 1st thing that comes to my mind is we cant make a paper template of the milwork. I start make a paper template of the wood templates, and head back to my shop. My boss asked me if I compared my paper templates to the milwork to see if they fit. I start to realize that i wasted so much time doing something on paper that we already had on wood. Plus I never compared the wood templates on the milwork etheir. This gets me very angry because evertime I do something it’s like I always leave something unchecked or i forget to check something so obvoius.
Can anyone relate to my problem?

I can relate to that. I forget significant details too.
Now, whenever my boss approaches my desk, I always prepare by getting a pen and piece of paper ready and as he’s giving instructions I write them down, in a short form of course. That way I never miss anything. I know other people who do this. Perhaps he thinks I’m taking the job more seriously when I do this, or he thinks I’m an idiot for having to write everything down – either way, it’s preferable to having to go back to him later and ask what he said.
